As a Christian, do you believe that Eve had with the devil in the garden of Eden?

It was recently brought to my attention that some members of the Christian faith believe that in the garden of Eden, the serpent and fruit of the tree story was just a metaphor for Eve and the devil having and that Cain was the result of such an encounter. I was just wondering your opinion and if you could give me some scripture to reinforce your belief.
